Our paving work covers garden paths, front paths, steps, entrance areas and the borders and edging that finish off a drive or patio. Block paving can be laid in herringbone or straight courses, with contrasting borders, inset patterns and curves that follow the shape of the garden. Paving is only as good as what is under it, so we dig out, lay and compact a sub-base and a sand bed before the blocks go down and are cut in at the edges. The edging is set in concrete so the paving can't creep, and the joints are filled with kiln-dried sand. Where new paving meets an existing drive, patio or doorstep, we match the levels so there is no trip edge or puddle at the join.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you match new paving to what I already have?
Often, yes, if the blocks are still made. If not, a contrasting border can make the new section look planned rather than patched.
Will weeds grow through block paving?
A well-compacted base and sand-filled joints keep weeds down, though seeds can land in the joints over time. A brush and an occasional top-up of jointing sand keeps it tidy.
Can paving go on a slope?
Yes. Gentle slopes can be paved to follow the ground, and steeper ones are better broken up with steps built into the path.
